Since it’s Mens Mental Health Awareness month… I just wanted to remind you that it takes a hell of a lot more than reposting some stupid quote on Instagram.
Stop being a dickhead to your mate. Stop being rude to your father. Check on your brother. Make sure your sons are happy. Stop putting so much pressure on your boyfriends and husbands. Be kind to your colleagues.
If we truly want to help men’s mental health, we’ve gotta reflect on how our actions are affecting the men in our lives. Are we making their lives better or worse with the things we say or do? It’s important to recognize that men often reach out in subtle ways when they’re struggling, and it may not be in a way that directly highlights their depression.
Each and every one of us needs to begin taking accountability and responsibility for creating a supportive and compassionate environment for the men in our lives.
