I have my own personal opinions on the transgender debate/movement. I live in Australia, and it isn’t such a big issue here yet (from my knowledge anyway). I do believe learning about pronouns have become a part of the cirriculum in schools, but I could be wrong… (I don’t care enough to look into it).
Anyhoo.. I’ve observed a lot of opinions and conversations over the topic, and I just want to say:
So many people get so offended when they’re “mis-gendered” or called he/ they/ them blah blah… (I can’t even keep up with the terms) so I was reflecting, and here’s the thing.
I am a female. Now if I had anyone call me a man, I wouldn’t be offended… do you know why? Because I’m confident in the fact that I’m a FEMALE. Call me a man if it helps you sleep better. Call me a dinosaur. Call me a teletubbie man I genuinely do not and would not give a fuck.
To get offended and force people to call you what you want (keep in mind, these are new concepts that people have decided to create and add to our vocabulary, so half of us don’t even know or care what it means)… and to get upset when someone calls you a “she” because of your obvious Double D tits when you actually want to be viewed as a man – is a you problem.
I am accepting of all people. I don’t care if you wanna change your sex. Be male/ female/ a unicorn or whatever the hell you want. But the last thing you’re going to do is force your perceptions onto me when you don’t even take a moment to even hear a perception that is different from your own.
I don’t care if you’re a man and you want to be called a “she”. I’ll happily do that. But at some point, people need to start validating their own damn gender – ESPECIALLY when it’s something you’re randomly constantly creating… concepts that half of us don’t give a fuck about or can even keep up with.
