Nothing in this universe is good or bad. It is a neutral event.
It is our relationship with the event/ situation, that defines our view of it to be something that is “good” or “bad”.
When something happens that goes against what we initially planned, we’re positioned to feel defenceless and hopeless. Sometimes, these events hit us hard enough for us to lose our way, our hope and our sense of self.
I wanted to write this post because I’m going through something that I didn’t think I’d have to go through again.
When things aren’t working and you can’t understand why – pray.
I’m not telling you to pray in a religious sense if you’re not religious. You can meditate. You can talk to God (or if you don’t believe in God, talk to a higher power).
Because there is a higher power.
God/ source/ the universe – whatever this “higher power” is to you – learn to trust in it.
I’ve gone through phases of my life where I’ve been angry because nothing made any sense. It filled me with anger and rage. It never led to any healing; it kept me holding onto bitterness and pain.
Then my mum told me to talk to God. So I did.
We have very little control – if any – over what happens to us. Truth be told, we never know what could happen tomorrow; yet we spend our lives planning 10 years ahead.
God is always going to make sure things work out for us.
Any pain I have felt throughout my life – I later came to realise – had so much wisdom inside of it. We just need to be willing to see it; and we don’t see it when we’re being spiteful, angry or complaining to our friends about it. We see it when we pray.
God actually speaks to you if you’re open to receiving the messages – whether through prayer, meditation or stillness. The problem is, many of us don’t spend enough time alone to be able to hear the messages/ signs.
Now, when things don’t work out for me – I know the pain doesn’t last and that something good will eventuate from it.
Everything I have ever lost has been replaced with a greater gift – and those gifts are usually in the form of something that becomes a part of me; something I can’t lose.
I think that’s what matters, at the end of the day; how we see ourselves, how we love and how we forgive. This will be our greatest assets at the end of the day.
No matter what you find yourself going through – I promise you, if you believe in something bigger than yourself – you’ll be guided in ways your ego, your friends and this society won’t; and it will liberate you.
There is nothing that happens that is good or bad. It’s perspective – and God will be there to help give it to you. Open yourself up to this higher perspective.
